GLP-1 Weight-Loss Medications
Wegovy®, Zepbound®, and the new once-daily pill Foundayo™ — prescribed and supervised by physicians who know you, right here on Hilton Head.
What are GLP-1 medications?
GLP-1 medications work with your body's own appetite signals to reduce hunger, helping you eat less and lose weight steadily — typically alongside changes to diet and activity. They include weekly injections such as Wegovy® (semaglutide) and Zepbound® (tirzepatide), and a new once-daily tablet, Foundayo™ (orforglipron).
These are prescription medicines — not for everyone, and not a shortcut. The right candidate, the right medication, and regular follow-up make the difference between lasting results and disappointment. That's why every GLP-1 prescription at Main Street Medical starts with a physician evaluation as part of our medical weight-loss program.
New for Medicare patients: the $50/month GLP-1 Bridge
Starting July 1, 2026, Medicare's new GLP-1 Bridge program lets eligible Medicare Part D patients get approved GLP-1 weight-loss medication for a $50 monthly co-pay once the program's prior authorization is approved.
- BMI 35 or higher — no additional diagnosis needed.
- BMI 30 or higher — plus heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or chronic kidney disease (stage 3a or above).
- BMI 27 or higher — plus pre-diabetes, a previous heart attack or stroke, or symptomatic peripheral artery disease.
Some patients aren't eligible for the Bridge — for example, those already receiving a GLP-1 through their Part D plan, patients with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea, and members of certain specialty Medicare plan types. Your provider will walk through it with you, and the pharmacy handles the prior authorization.
