Dr. Van Gauby is a residency-trained, board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine and has been in practice since 1993. Dr. Gauby received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Berea College, Berea, KY (1984) and completed his medical degree at Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio (1988). He subsequently completed residency training in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine and maintains board certification in both disciplines. He has also been elected a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).
Throughout his career he has practiced at Level I & II trauma centers as well as community hospitals. Since 2001 he has been an attending Emergency Medicine physician at Hilton Head Hospital, and more recently has joined the team at Main Street Medical, providing both primary and urgent care.
Dr. Gauby has a strong interest in education and has been an instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) for over 25 years.
